Phuket has plenty of Buddhist temples and Islamic mosques. But none top the 45-meter-high Big Buddha. Towering over southern Phuket, this white marble statue is famous for its great big smile.

Sheer size, impressive sight! Free entry. Lots of donation boxes, its up to you. Its a sacred place of worship, cover up pls. A stall with sarongs to cover modesty for a minimal baht.

A very impressive location for a Buddha with stunning views over the south of Phuket past the Phi Phi islands on a clear day. There is a short 3 flight climb to the Buddha and a carpark.

The structure is huge and has awesome views to the east and west coast of Phuket. Even if you don’t like Buddha’s, do the drive up for the views alone.
